My friend Jake is one of my most photographed subjects. I like hanging out with Jake, and he isn’t squeamish around the camera. I took one of the worst photos ever of him, and since then I’ve felt an obligation to undo this by only taking good pictures of him.

I shot this with my LX2 which is a fine RAW-shooting point and shoot with a nice wide lens and horrible low light capabilities. I like digital black and white, but I also like to add a film look to my B&W images, so I created an action in Photoshop to do this. This works for many images, but not all, and of course there’s 100 ways to do this.

Stay tuned for a description of my Film Grain Photoshop Action.
